Description
The Slash 8 is an enduro mountain bike that’s built for pressing the send button again and again. It’s built on a high-pivot platform with 170 mm or front and rear travel that boosts traction for punchy climb stages and keeps stability a priority when you point it straight down. A mixed set-up with a 29˝ front and 27.5˝ rear wheel keep handling playful, and it comes equipped with a Shimano XT drivetrain for clean shifts no matter where you ride.
It’s right for you if…
You want an enduro bike that keeps pedalling efficient on the ups and slays on the downs. The added traction from a high-pivot bike is appealing, but the stability on descents is really what takes the cake. Versatility is up your alley, and you love being able to walk the line between fast-rolling 29ers and nimble 27.5 wheels.
The tech you get
An Alpha Platinum Aluminium frame with high pivot suspension and idler pulley, plus internal storage. 170 mm of front and rear travel with a FOX Rhythm 36 fork with Float EVOL air spring and GRIP damper and a Fox Performance Float X shock.. Plenty of gears for punchy climbs with a Shimano XT drivetrain, a Bontrager Line Dropper and a MX wheel set-up with 29 in front and 27.5 in rear Bontrager Line Comp 30 Tubeless Ready wheels with Rapid Drive hub.
The final word
The Slash 8 is ready to party on enduro days with long travel, serious traction and stability for days. It packs in value and performance with a FOX suspension package and Shimano XT Shifting.
Why you’ll love it
- Its high-pivot suspension gives you insane control for hairy descents, while carefully tuned anti-squat and oversized pulleys make pedalling astonishingly efficient
- The long, 170 mm/170 mm front and rear travel is more than enough for stomping big jumps and cleaning rock gardens
- It comes ready to roll with a mixed wheel set-up that gives you a fast-rolling 29 in front hoop and stiff, yet nimble 27.5 in rear wheel, and can be set up as a 29er for more speed
- You can tweak Slash for how and where you ride with an adjustable leverage rate, bolt-on lower shock mount for swapping to full 29er, and adjustable-angle headset (sold separately)
- Internal storage gives you a spot to stash tools and snacks, and it’s available on all models
